Makenzie is a knitwear designer in the Portland area. With a background in fine art and an admiration for architecture. She enjoys creating classic and engaging knitting patterns that are influenced by her love of the arts and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

We will explore the fundamental skills of brioche knitting flat. This class will teach you step by step instructions for two color rib brioche while knitting a swatch, how to read essential brioche stitches. Building a foundation of brioche knitting.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (comfortable with knitting, purling, yarn overs, reading knitting instructions.)

Materials:

US 7/4.5 mm needle

Worsted weight yarn in 2 high contrasting solid colors

2 stitch markers optional

You will receive a handout during class on basic brioche knitting, with brioche stitches covered during class, and photo tutorials.

Homework: Have your materials and be ready to go.
